My apartment has a giveaway table in our laundry room. You never know what kinds of things you will find on there. One day I went by the room and saw an air fryer. I quickly grabbed it. I have been seeing air fryers advertised for awhile on TV info comericials and QVC so I was surprised to actually see one sitting on my giveaway table. I’m glad that I have one now.
I know some think it is a waste of counter space. I don’t believe that. Here is why:

  • You save calories by using less oil or no oil when cooking. I love that.
  • As a disabled woman in a wheelchair it is easier to get things out of the air fryer than the oven. This is perfect for people like me.
  • It cooks in less time than the oven.
I made the best roast chicken in my Power Air Fryer. It was crisp, delicious, and easy to do. I didn’t use any oil or butter and it still turned out crispy.
I have also made sweet potato fries in my air fryer too. They were delicious also. I didn’t use any oil at all, so that saved me a lot of calories but I was still able to enjoy a crispy fry. I haven’t made fried chicken yet, but that will be my next project.
The American Diabetes Association has a cookbook out for the air fryer. The book is titled “The Easy Air Fryer Cookbook” by Kathy Moore. According to Moore the benefits of air frying are:
  • Easy to use.
  • Quick cooking
  • Uses little or no oil
  • Creates a brown and crispy texture
  • Cleans up easily
  • Cooks a wide variety of foods.
This is a fabulous cookbook because there are so many great recipes to make that are diabetes friendly. The range of recipes are from appetizers to meats, fish, and vegetables and even dessert.
Conclusion, if you are not lucky as me and found one for free. I would recommend you purchase one. I am going to include some great places to purchase one. This is perfect for kids who want to eat french fries or fried foods that taste yummy. This is also perfect for a disabled person who is not able to use the oven well. The cooking time saves a lot of time and the calories you save by using less oil is a good thing. If you think about it, oil has 120 calories in one tablespoon and we all know we use more than that when we fry foods or even roast our chickens or for french fries or roasted vegetables. So this is a wellness tool that is worth owning.
