There you are! This is Karen with Wellness Works NW and today we are going to talk about Low T…Back in the 70’s there was this great soul singer named, Barry White, and he could get his voice very low and he had this very seductive voice, like, “Hello Baby.” He could say anything and it would sound very cool. My voice is not that low.
What do I mean when I say Low T? It means I kept practicing saying, Testosterone, and decided to stop and say Low T. Testosterone is the key male sex hormone. It plays a crucial role in muscle growth and fat loss. Now if you are a guy and you are sitting there, thinking you used to be able to lose 10 lbs in 2 hours, what is going on? That means you might have Low T and you need to go to the doctor and get yourself check out to make sure your hormone levels are what they should be.
Some of the things that could be causing Low T is stress and not enough sleep. So some people are over night workers and you make good money. I understand work. That is groovy and I used to be an over night worker, myself, for years, as a matter of fact. But you have to get your sleep because if you don’t it can cause your body to have Low T and this makes it harder to loss weight. All kinds of different things go a long with this.
If you are feeling sluggish and things aren’t happening as they used to you want to go get your hormone levels checked.
If you are low on Vitamin D, you might be having Low T. When you live in the Pacific Northwest and you aren’t taking a Vitamin-D supplement, and most of us do, because we don’t get enough sun here, you might want to consider making that change.
Watch your stress levels and make time for you, whatever that means. Like watching the Seahawks win! Yeah! That’s a great way to de-stress. Sports are great! And we have had a lot of extra stress lately so you might want to consider what you can do to help yourself.
You can treat Low T with supplements. These should be natural supplements. Be careful because there are all kinds of supplements out there. Do some research first and talk with your doctor. I am not a doctor. There are injections and I have spoken to people who say they make them feel like they are 15 years old again and other people do not enjoy them at all. Everyone is different. So we want to get a plan that works for you.
If you have noticed that you are feeling sluggish and you are not able to lose weight like you used to, just go to your doctor and ask for simple blood test to see what is happening.
Something else you can do is make sure you are eating well. I have a list of really great foods that will help you body be healthy:
Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Grass-Fed Butter
Extra Virgin Coconut Oil
Beef Gelatin (like what you would get from making bone broth)
Eggs
Grass-Fed Jerky
Minced Meat
Organic Bacon
Oysters
Avocados
Onions
Pomegranates.
There are all kinds of food that are good for you that might influence your testosterone levels. I want you to try that.
If you get a diagnosis of Low T, we tend to make jokes about this, but I want you to take it seriously. Many times by changing your eating habits, getting good rest and proper supplements, control stress and getting regular exercise, you can correct this issue naturally.
If you have any questions please feel free to send me an email or you can call or text me at 360-447-8061!
Of course exercise is a great thing to do! That’s right! Get up off that couch and dance till you get better! LOL! The old Pushup is tried and true. It is the best exercise known to man because you are your own resistance. The beautiful thing about the pushup is that you can do all kinds of variations. You want to make sure you are squeezing your glutes and abs as you come down. This is one of the best exercises in the world you can do for your body. I care about you and and I know you can do this!
I am sending you all kinds of wonderful vibes and positive prayers.
