Eating well can sometimes be a challenging problem, especially when you are suffering from a chronic condition that leaves you with extreme fatigue. For me, when I am extremely fatigued the last thing I want to do is to chop vegetables and cook a meal. That is why I was excited when I strolled into Walmart Market Store’s frozen section and found Grandcestors Paleo Colorado Hash Meal.
Grandcestors is a company out of Colorado that makes paleo meals that are healthy and use real ingredients without the extreme salt and fake ingredients that are not good for us. Like you, I have relied on Marie Callenders to feed me when I was too pooped to cook. After I have eaten said meal I feel like like a semi truck has ran me over.
Grandcestor uses real ingredients and is part of the Whole 30 Program and the Paleo Diet Program. I love that because as one who suffers from a couple of chronic illnesses eating paleo insures that I am not feeling yucky and can actually have some energy to enjoy my day.
One morning I microwaved the Colorado Hash and proceeded to enjoy a tasty breakfast that made me smile.
The ingredients:
- White Sweet Potatoes
- Chicken Breast
- Turkey Andouille Sausage
- Onions
- Sea Salt
- Garlic
- Coconut oil
- Peppers
Health information:
- 460 calories for the entire package
- 130 calories from fat
- 15 grams of fat
- 9 grams saturated fat
- 0 trans fat
- Chlosteral 95 mg
- Sodium 770 grams
- Fiber 6 grams
- Sugar 11 grams
- Protein 38 grams
The spice mix was perfect, it was delicious and mouth watering. I enjoyed every bite. It was a perfect meal to have. I had it for breakfast, but it would be a good dinner or lunch. There was a ton of chicken and turkey in it, they did not skimp on it at all and it was easy to microwave.
In my opinion, this would be a good TV dinner to have in your freezer for those nights you aren’t able to cook and it would be a great thing to include in your meal plan. The sodium is not bad considering that Marie Callenders has 900 MG from half the TV dinner so if you eat the whole thing it would be double. 770 MG of sodium is not bad.
